The Chernobyl accident devastated Belarusian and Ukrainian territories for many years, forced people to leave their homes and displaced them, and dealt a deadly blow to the health of several generations.
People were not told the truth under the Soviet rule, nor do we know the true consequences now.
Chernobyl Way rally took place as a response to the lies, concealment of information, and endangering people’s lives. It was first held in 1989. Even though over time Chernobyl Way has ceased to be large-scale, it still remains relevant.
