The head coach of freestylers Mikalai Kazeka was not taken to the training camp of the national team, the fans warned the athletes
The head coach of freestylers Mikalai Kazeka was not hired for the training camp of the national team. Previously, the well-known coach signed a letter from the athletes against violence, after which his scholarship payment was canceled, and now there is a check on “the legality of receiving state awards for the honored coach.” A letter in defense of the coach was signed by all members of the national team, including Alla Tsuper, Hanna Huskova and Aleksandra Romanovskaya.
Mikalai Kazeka’s students won seven medals of various denominations at the Winter Olympics, including four gold ones.
In turn, football and hockey fans opposed the athletes’ pro-government letter, which appeared “in opposition” to the letter against violence. “If someone takes such a step (signing a letter in defense of the authorities – ed.), we will consider them void as a human. We believe in your conscience,” the fans write.
“They turned on us! Move out!” Another video from the security forces’ car leaked on the internet
The videos from body cameras of security forces filmed during protests continue to pop up on the internet. They were recorded during the Partisan March, which took place in Minsk on 18 October. The video shows the panic and confusion of the security forces officers.
One of the organizers of the By_Pol initiative, which published the recordings, is Andrei Astapovich. In the past, he was an investigator in Minsk. He resigned after a surge of violence in the country, was detained and fled from Belarus. Now he resides in Warsaw.
Andrei said: “The current government is beginning to persecute its own employees within the system. Due to the actions of the very authorities, protest moods are already rising within the system itself – people are beginning to defend themselves. Now an internal war begins, so let us see who wins: a monkey with a club or human intellect.”
The National Bank of the Republic of Belarus preparing banks for the People’s Tribunal?
This week, some banks received a letter from the National Bank with a request to connect to the Russian system for transmitting financial messages “Service Bureau SPFS – BMRT”.
This Russian system is analogous to the international SWIFT system. Disconnection of Belarus from SWIFT is one of the points of the People’s Tribunal, which was announced by Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.
It can be assumed that the National Bank is preparing Belarusian banks for sanctions, but this is not yet certain. As of today, seven Belarusian banks are already using the Service Bureau SPFS – BMRT, another 5 are already connecting to it.
War against active citizens and protesters in factories started
Active citizens and workers of Belarusian enterprises who have joined the protests are being subjected to unprecedented pressure from the regime today.
The workers of the Belarusian metallurgical plant who supported the strikes have had criminal cases opened against them.
A member of the independent trade union, Ihar Povarau, was arrested on suspicion of a criminal offense. Ihar was allegedly organizing strikes at the metallurgical plant. At least three other Minsk metallurgical plant employees face criminal charges.
A resident of Baranavichy, a military pensioner Aleh Malaschenka, has been expelled from Belarus. Aleh Malaschenka is a native of Baranavichy, but he completed his military service in Russia, which automatically awarded him Russian citizenship. The authorities consider the man to be one of the instigators of the protests at the 558th Aviation Repair Plant.
Belarusians write letters to prisoners en masse, but access to sites for tracking letters and parcels is suddenly closed
“At the moment, 144 people have been recognized as political prisoners in Belarus. There have been more than 30,300 arrests of protesters. More than 900 criminal cases have been opened against political opponents of the government. Now prisoners really need support – you can write letters to them,” this is how Belarusians support each other.
Not all letters reach political prisoners, and some do with great delay and after strict censorship.
Today, on 28 November, 4 sites for tracking postal items became unavailable. However, all these resources can still be accessed via VPN.
